On the 14th and 15th of November, our team Gracie Barra Fulham had many events occurring simultaneously.
In between them, there was our Professor Lagarto’s seminar in combination with KX Education, which took place on Saturday at Southbank bank. This was a great opportunity for the ones wishing to learn the foundations yet the best effective positions.
You can check it out the short video for the seminar here: https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v2/y4/r/-PAXP-deijE.gif
During the seminar our team also gained one new very well deserved black belt, Francis Galvin from Ireland, awarded by Professor Lagarto. On the following day, he awarded Paul Wyman with a black belt, during his Seminar at Redcar, in the North East of England.
In addition to the seminars news, some of our team members participated in 2 different competitions.
The IBJJF Berlin Open also took place last weekend, and was made a highlight by one of our members placing 1st on his debut at Brown Belt Level, at both Gi and No Gi. Massive achievement Stas Varshavsky!!
Some of our members also participated in the English Open, held in Dartford, England.
The environment of the competition was of very high standard, Professor Arya was an excellent referee and coach Natalia was presenting the medals, as well as coaching our students, our competitors did a great job.
We brought home an extensive amount of knowledge, medals and a trophie.
Robert ‘Bling’ Graham and Bartosz earned gold medals after exciting matches, Leslie Owusu earned a brilliant silver medal, after winning a tough match that brought the crowd up, and Dan Vinni earned a bronze medal.
On the other hand, we also have news from our academy. The renovation process is on going, we have finalized the first step, and next weekend the rest should be done!
New academy design for everyone to enjoy, much brighter and much more professional.
Hope you all had a marvelous weekend, and don’t forget to train hard this week!
